## Chapter 1 - Beginnings [[Kayled]], [[Teddy]], [[Greta]], [[Jean Phillipe]], [[Spitz]], and [[Naivara]] met in [[Sharpton]] While here, there was a big beastie that threatened the lives of multiple miners and children. Everyone survived, including the fan favorite, [[Tobias]]. Because of their heroics, they gained the attention of a strong warrior aasimar, [[Oriana]] who was tasked with figuring out how to solve [[The Clysm]]. She advised that they go to speak to [[Rothwell]], a professor at [[Kirkwall Tower]], who seemed to have more of an idea of what was causing the Clysm. Before the party went to [[Foxrock]] to visit Rothwell, they spent some time in [[Sharpton]], competing in shooting and log chopping activities. They met some of the local characters and learned more about the world around them. [[Pim Pimberly]], a nervous man poorly knitting in the inn, tasked the party with retrieving his late wife's ring. #### Quests Given [[Solve The Clysm]] [[Stolen Ring]] [[Get to Kirkwall]] #### Items received [[Ring of Speak with Dead]] #### Characters met this chapter [[Tobias]] [[Oriana]] [[Pim Pimberly]] [[Cirrus]] ## Chapter 2 - The Rothwell Manor When the party arrives at [[Foxrock]], they find a ghost town, haunted whispers seeming to try to speak to them beyond the veil. Pushing through the haunted, empty air of the town, they made their way to the [[Rothwell]] manor. Here, the party found the bodies of the professor and his wife, murdered. His wife was missing her hands, down to the elbows. While investigating, they heard goblins outside on the balcony. After defeating the goblins, the party continues to poke around. In one of the bookshelves downstairs, they find the [[Tome of Vile Darkness]]. They are unable to open it, but the whispered evil aura from the book make them not want to leave it alone in the town. The party tried to speak with Rothwell's corpse and they discover he was recently fired from [[Kirkwall Tower]] for his investigation into an evil plot of some faculty members. With more questions than they came with, the party continues their trek to Kirkwall. #### Quests Given [[Solving the Murders]] #### Items received [[Tome of Vile Darkness]] #### Characters met this chapter [[Rothwell]] (corpse) [[Iris Rothwell]] (corpse) ## Chapter 3 - Bardiac Arrest The next city on the road to [[Kirkwall]] was a town called [[Haywick]]. However, before they made it to the main entrances, they were encountered by an emo Dark Desire Lyre playing bard called Patrick Stumple. He shared that he was a member of a band called [[Bardiac Arrest]]. Patrick gave the party a heads up that the town has been overtaken by two different factions: cultists who call themselves [[Remnants]] and Bandits. He doesn't know what has happened to the villagers there before. However, he requests that the party help save the rest of his band. The party, donned with [[Bardiac Arrest]] shirts gifted by Patrick Stumple, are able to talk their way into [[Haywick]]. Here, they notice a lot of tension between the [[Remnants]] and the Bandits. However, everyone seems friendly enough at first. Within the first few minutes of poking around, they are approached by a Dragonborn who introduces herself as [[Eira]]. She excitedly tells them that they are just in time for the event! Before they can protest, she drags the party to the large chapel in the middle of town. She gives them all robes and tells them that the only two rules they need to remember are: don't speak and don't look under the hood. They cautiously follow her down to the basement where multiple [[Remnants]] are humming an alarming tune. Chained to the back wall, the members of [[Bardiac Arrest]] are charmed to play along. The party is unable to do anything before Eira approaches an alter in the midst of the chapel and plunges a ceremonial dagger into her chest. A great green light swells in the room, and all members of the party pass out as Eira sacrifices her soul to [[Vecna]]. When the players awake, [[Kayled]] and [[Greta]] wake up in the crypt while [[Jean Phillipe]] and [[Teddy]] are in the chapel with Bardiac Arrest. [[Naivara]] is nowhere to be found. The party is able to help the band escape the chapel through a window into the crypt. Here they also learn that any type of pain or damage will wake someone up from the [[Whispering Curse]]. While winding through the crypts and tunnels, they fight some baddies and ultimately find an exit that is blocked by deadly mold. After clearing the mold, they discover the body of Patrick Stumple, very much not alive. The party is able to convince the rest of the band that they did not know he was dead and [[Bardiac Arrest]] plays a sweet tune for him to grant him passage into the afterlife. They gift the party a [[Flute of Illusion]] as a thank you. All of them emerge into an old Silver Chapel outside of city limits where Bardiac Arrest is able to safely flee the two sects that kept them prisoner. The party is able to safely rest while trying to figure out the next steps with the curse's voices whispering in their heads. #### Quests Given Removing the Whispering Curse #### Items received [[Flute of Illusion]] [[Cloak of Shadows]] #### Characters met this chapter [[Eira]] [[Bardiac Arrest]] ## Chapter 4 - The Resistors After [[Bardiac Arrest]] is safely rescued, the party decided to return to [[Haywick]] to try and get safe passage to [[Kirkwall]]. While back in town, though tensions were high, they were able to go to the market and purchase some new gear. The party even saw [[Eira]], though the glimmer about her seemed dulled. She seemed empty. At the stalls, the party purchased a few items like [[Pim Pimberly]]'s [[Stolen Ring]] and fireworks. However, they were quickly thwarted when a few kids stole their newly purchased goods. The party chased them down (some torturing them with techniques from their gods) until they narrowly escaped down a well in a back alley. Before the party had a chance to decide whether to jump down or not, two hooded figures approached and the [[Tome of Vile Darkness]] started humming loudly -- evil was here. The party jumped down after the kids, but not before they saw the two figures dragging a body saying "she's perfect". Down the well, they found a hideout for a group of children that had been left behind when the [[Remnants]] and Bandits took over Haywick. They banded together and called themselves the [[Resistors]], led by a 17 year old tiefling named [[Capella]]. She explained that the Resistors have mapped out most of the underground tunnels and led them to a safe exit. While they were walking however, the party felt 5 pairs of eyes watching them from the shadows. [[Mattias]], a young dragonborn with an attitude, offers to take them to the leader of the Bandits in town. Winding through the streets where distrust between the two sects continued to grow - especially after a body of a bandit was discovered in a back alley. He brings them to a longhouse where the Bandits had set up their operation and he introduced them to [[Tierielle]], his step mother. She tells them she is willing to help them if they are able to find her missing wife -- that was the only reason the Bandits were in Haywick. However, before they could do any further investigation, a terrifying hooded figure burst into the room, the [[Tome of Vile Darkness]] practically screaming as it approached. To keep [[Mattias]] and the tome safe, [[Teddy]] hid both of them in a storeroom. While they were witness to some terrifying powers of this Higher Remnant, the party was able to win. Then, there was a boom and everything was bathed in green horror. #### Quests Given Updated: [[Solving the Murders]] [[Missing Wife]] #### Items received [[Pricking Ring]] [[Pim Pimberly]]'s ring Fireworks #### Characters met this chapter [[Capella]] [[Mattias]] [[Tierielle]] [[Lars]] [[Resistors]] ## Chapter 5 - Reality Bends [[Mattias]] opened the [[Tome of Vile Darkness]], the one thing Teddy told him not to do. [[Haywick]] is bathed in a green light as buildings and streets warp and shriek. The party gets glimpses in their heads of Mattias hovering above the tome as [[Remnants]] begin to swarm. [[Tierielle]], outraged by the party's part in what is happening to Mattias, she runs off. The party tries to make their way to the market square where Mattias is, but the streets are different and certain death awaits every corner. They are unable to navigate back. When all seems lost, each of them see a vision that tempts them to leave the group: **Kayled:** [[Spitz]] vanishes into the shadows of a building **Greta:** [[Oriana]] flashes her [[Royal Syndicate]] pin **Teddy:** Hears the cries of [[Henry]] as a baby **Jean Phillippe**: Lars, the child he converted, is trying and failing to lay some skeletons to rest Each of the party members follows their visions and awake in the [[Fugue Plane]], part of [[Kelemvor]]'s realm; the only catch, their souls didn't match up to their bodies. They must solve [[Kelemvor's Riddles]] to face his judgement and leave his realm. In the end, Kelemvor was pleased and granted them safe passage, clearing the way through Vecna's evil atmosphere. Back in [[Haywick]], though it looked much different than before, the party had to battle to get to an ever transforming Mattias. Mid battle, Spitz went to bite the tome and blinked out of existence. The battle was hard fought, but ultimately, they were able to rescue an ever sickened Mattias. Each member of the party, aside from [[Kayled]], went to grab the tome and disappeared from [[Haywick]]. #### Quests Given [[Kelemvor's Judgement]] ## Chapter 5b - The Gateway in the Crypts [[Kayled]], having chosen to not to touch the book that blipped the rest of the party from existence, is now on his own to find a way forward with his quest. He wraps the book in leather before stashing it in his pack. [[Capella]] and the [[Resistors]] offer to help him find a way to [[Kirkwall]]. While in the tunnels, they come face to face with the 5 pairs of eyes they saw before -- 5 doppelgangers that look just like the party members. Capella, wanting to take care of an ever more ill looking [[Mattias]], tells Kayled about a weird man in the tunnels that may be able to help them further. From here, Kayled ventured alone. Ignoring the faint groans and haunted noises from elsewhere in the crypts, he carefully followed Capella's instructions to find an old shack, old dog, and even older man. The old man was very interested in Kayled and offered to take him to Kirkwall on his raft if he played his games. Kayled quickly learned that this was no ordinary raft, dog, nor man. Instead he was aboard the raft of [[Gwyn Ap Nudd]]. During Ap Nudd's riddles and games, Kayled learned that he is not the original version of himself. His [[Mark of Vecna]] is gone - or maybe it was never there; this version of Kayled never witnessed the Vecnan ritual. Ad Nudd grew to like Kayled and told him that although it was too early for him to allow him through the Eternal Gateway, he would get him to his friends. Kayled grows dizzy and falls unconscious. When he awakes, waves are gently lapping on his pant legs. With a shock, he recognizes that he is in [[Kirkwall]]. #### Quests Given [[Entertain Ap Nudd]] #### Items received Ad Nudd's blessing New name: Fiagai #### Characters met this chapter [[Gwyn Ap Nudd]] [[Tilde]] ## Chapter 6 - Reality Repeats [[Jean Phillipe]], [[Spitz]], [[Teddy]], and [[Greta]] all find themselves, suddenly, in the bright sun of [[Kirkwall]]'s Market District. The town, surprisingly, is bustling. They meet [[Henry]], Teddy's son, and quickly are able to deduce that he is a major player in [[The Clysm|The Clysm]]. They run into [[Nora]], the only person that seems to be aware that they are in a time loop. She is able to tell them more about the [[Ritual at Kirkwall Tower]]. Trying to bid their strength, they go to try and rest that night, but learn that they, just like Nora, are now caught in the [[Time Loop]]. The party makes their way through different time loops with varying levels of success (and violence). After a few loops, Kayled appears. They slowly begin to piece together information and rules about the time loop: - [[Rothwell]], alive in the loop, managed to escape one time with the help of Henry, taking the [[Tome of Vile Darkness]] with him - There are time anomalies popping up in each region of Aramil - the Kenmare gods are trying to take over Aramil in [[The Silver Lady]]'s apparent absence - Only [[Jean Phillipe]] and [[Teddy]] are able to physically leave the time loop - [[Cyrenna]] plans to use the [[Ritual at Kirkwall Tower]] to summon the [[Exarch]] of [[Vecna]] - [[Royal Syndicate]] members are present in [[Kirkwall]], but aren't aware of the ritual In one loop, [[Greta]] snuck into Cyrenna's office to spy on her and learn more about what she and Rothwell were fighting about. She was detected and subsequently attacked by Cyrenna. She would have died if not for the heroic rescue from [[Henry]]. Following that rescue, however, Henry has not been seen in Kirkwall. [[Teddy]], with a desperate plea borne from a father's love, begs to be brought to wherever his son is. He was able to leave the time loop to go to real day Kirkwall where the landscape is such in a state of stasis. He quickly makes his way to the Observatory, where he sees the grim ritual scene again. However, this time, the original [[Sword of Kas]], missing just one shard, seems to vibrate when he comes near. He reunites the shard with the sword and, in a moment of rage, slashes at [[Cyrenna]]'s arms attached to his son. He severs one and deeply wounds the other, allowing for [[Henry]] to say one thing: "book". Teddy stabs the pages of the tome and finds himself warped into a dreamily lit Observatory where the book stands open with the sword sticking out. He wields the sword again, plunging it deep into the book - cover to cover. The tower shakes, and he suddenly sits face to face with Henry, in a plane outside of time. The rest of the party discovers the underground [[Natural Repository]] where they get more answers about why Cyrenna is plotting the ritual, as well as a moment between [[Greta]] and her ex [[Charlie]] who promises to help. #### Quests Given [[Cyrenna's Secrets]] #### Items received [[Soul Lantern]] [[Sword of Kas]] [[Kenmare Quiver]] [[Staff of Murmuring]] #### Characters met this chapter [[Nora]] [[Henry]] [[Rothwell]] [[Cyrenna]] [[Finch]] [[Sullivan]] [[Masha]] [[Charlie]] [[Garbanzo]] [[Buzz]] [[Olive]] [[Goose]] [[Alaric Caldwell]]
